Maine's Southern Mid Coast
Southern
Mid Coast Maine stretches from Brunswick and runs north along
Maine's rocky coast to Edgecomb.
Mid coast Maine begins at Freeport, Maine and continues north
for about 30 miles. The Mid coast is known for having the
best of Maine: a coastline of amazing vistas, easy access
to cultural events and shopping, quality educational facilities
such as Bowdoin College, and more.

BRUNSWICK HAS BEEN RANKED one of the top five places to retire
in America by Money magazine for the second time in five years.
The article below cites senior educational opportunities,
relatively low living costs, attractive communities, hospitals,
recreational and cultural offerings. From Money:
"Brunswick, Maine. A classic New England fishing village
that's also home to Bowdoin, a 207-year-old, top-ranking liberal
arts college, Brunswick is picturesque but not isolated, bustling
but not hectic."
Money also named Brunswick one of the best places to retire
in 2000.

More about Brunswick
Brunswick has two wonderful farmers' markets - the first
is located in the "commons" area of Brunswick and
is held on Tuesdays and Fridays. The second is located at
Crystal Spring Farm, 277 Pleasant Hill Road, also in Brunswick.
From flowers to fresh vegetables, local turkey to traditional
sourdough breads, the farmers' markets are a popular attraction.
Pickard
Theater on the Bowdoin College Campus presents extraordinary
stage events. Recently renovated, season tickets sell out
early! This is a favorite pastime for many local residents
as well as visitors.
The Gazebo located in Brunswick's Town Commons is host to
weekly band concerts in the summer. In the winter, it overlooks
ice skating. And on one lucky day in June it is host to a
Strawberry festival.
