Mid Coast Senior Health Center Support
Groups
Families
and friends of residents and patients at the Mid Coast Senior
Health Center can find information, assistance, support and
comfort through the Support Group which meets monthly in the
Community Room of the Mid Coast Senior Health Center.
Membership is informal; you may drop in or be a regular.
You may choose to speak up or just listen. Through the support
group, others share how they have handled situations and feelings,
thus helping individuals deal with the physical and emotional
demands of caregiving.
The group meets the third Thursday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
in the Community Room of the Mid Coast Senior Health Center.
To confirm the meeting or for more information, call 207 373
3640 and ask for the Support Group Coordinator. There is no
expense. Everyone is welcome; you need not have a family member
or friend in the Mid Coast Senior Health Center.
The Mid Coast Senior Health Center also frequently hosts
a series presented by the Maine Alzheimer’s Association.
These programs are free and open to the community, whether
or not you have a friend or family member at the Mid Coast
Senior Health Center. While the focuses of the programs are
on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, caregivers in all
situations will find helpful information and support. There
is no expense. For more information on Alzheimer’s,
go to www.Mainealz.org.
At the Mid Coast Senior Health Center, we also practice the
Best Friend’s Approach to Alzheimer’s Care. For
more information about this approach to care, to www.bestfriendsapproach.com.
